NCIDD can be used on a TiVo in five ways:

    - TiVo Serial Port Modem
    - TiVo Series 1 Internal Modem
    - TiVo Series 2 Internal Modem
    - TiVo Series 3 Internal Modem
    - DirecTiVo Modem

    TiVo Serial Port Modem

You can attach a modem to the serial port on the TiVo, but it
must be set to ignore DTR, unless you build the special cable
shown below.

Use this string to set the modem before attaching it to the TiVo:

    AT&F0&D0&B1#CID=1&W

    DB25    Headphone Plug
    ------ ----------------------
    pin 2 ---> Tip (Center)
    pin 3 ---> Ring (Middle)
    pin 7 ---> Ground (Outside)

Attach the modem to the TiVo and test it using:

    ncidd -D -I AT

Call yourself and verify that it works, then <CTRL><c> out of it.

The TiVo series 1 does not support CID without a hardware modification
as given by ElectricLegs and drawn by Saturn49:

    The #'s are points that would have to be soldered to the TiVo's board.

Please note that the internal modem does not seem to be reliable for CallerID.

It seems that some (most) modems in DirecTivo work with CallerID.
